About this attraction

Nzulezu (also spelled Nzulezo) is a historic stilt village in the Western Region, about 90 kilometres west of Takoradi near the village of Beyin. Built entirely on stilts over Lake Tadane in the Amansuri Wetland, its name means "surface of water" in the Nzema language. Founded some 400–500 years ago, the village is a cluster of wooden houses linked by a central wooden walkway, home to a community that lives, farms, and fishes entirely on the water.
